Back in the sixties, Mr. Basilio Trueba Diego, owner of a winery on Ruamayor street in Santander, acquired land reclaimed from the sea by Mr. Manuel García Lago at the end of El Sardinero, which at that time was just a waste dump.
In the following years little more than a few roof tiles were built where wine was sold and some casseroles that Doña María Lastra made with care and skill.
It was not until well into the seventies when the building where the restaurant is today was built, already with the invaluable help of D. Basilio's daughter, Mrs. Mary Trueba and her late husband, Mr. Alejandro Heras.
In our days it is the third generation of the Trueba family that runs the establishment, as follows:
- Mr. Basilio Heras, world champion of acrobatic cocktails and one of the ten best bartenders in the world is our Head of Bars.
- Mrs. María Heras, with extensive experience in customer service, always with the kindness and candor that characterizes her, is our Head of Room.
Always accompanied by a great human team, prepared for this stage in which El Parque Restaurant aims to be one of the flagships of the cuisine of Santander and Cantabria.
